About This Work
The Bagua are eight symbols used in Daoist cosmology to represent
the fundamental principles of reality, seen as a range of eight interrelated concepts.
Each consists of three lines, each line either “broken” or “unbroken”,
respectively representing yin or yang.
Due to their tripartite structure, they are often referred to as ‘trigrams‘ in English.
The ancient Chinese classic, I Ching (Yi Jing), consists of 64 pairwise permutations of trigrams or ‘hexagrams‘, along with commentary on each one.
La Nao de China offers a careful selection of Chinese Art, Antiques and a wide variety of Vintage stuff. We are inspired by all things Chinese, for appreciation, for curiosity and for the fondness we feel for the Traditional Lifestyle of the Chinese People.
